HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 30 (acn) Water tanks without covers, accumulation of wastes among others are the main reasons why 27 work centers in the province of Villa Clara have received huge fines amidst the current special campaign against the AedesEgypti mosquito.
Inspections carried out by the Health Ministry in the region to production and services centers concluded with the detection of risk areas before the possible proliferation of the insect which is the transmitter of dangerous viruses like dengue, chinkunguya and zika.
Member of the secretariat of the Cuban Workers Confederation in Villa Clara told ACN that there are no existing areas with possible mosquitos in the work centers but there were certain conditions that could create risk zones detected in some areas.
She added that in the province over 8 thousand 400 brigades have been organized to carry out an inspection campaign in the work centers but not all do good quality inspection necessary to avoid risk of insect proliferation.
If the members of the workers organization worked efficiently in the control of the vector the measures against the reproduction of the mosquitoes in state institutions and communities would be reduced to a minimum in Villa Clara province one of the territories with the highest risk factors in Cuba, she said.
Barbara Barreda, head of the health promotion department in the Provincial Hygiene and Epidemiology Center highlighted the knowledge evaluation given to members of the brigade that carry out the inspections to promote changes in the evolution conduct of the mosquito.
