HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 27 (acn) A current US-Cuba scientific expedition to Eastern Cuba has yielded preliminary results, as announced on Monday by Logistics Coordinator with the American Museum of Natural History of New York, Natalia Alejandra Rossi.
Rossi told PL news agency that after the first nine days of the expedition, they have collected and classified nearly fifty wildlife species and a considerable genetic material sample at the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, thanks to the close collaboration between US and Cuban scientists.
The natural history museums of Cuba and New York have shared a 100-year-old relationship, though this is the first joint expedition in the island.
The US experts announced a new scientific exchange for 2016 which will include visits to other Cuban national parks.
