HAVANA, Nov. 5 (ACN) Cuba would currently enjoy remarkable development if it had not been subdued for almost six decades to the US economic, commercial and financial blockade, said Victor Fernandez, president of the Cuba Cooperation France (CubaCoop) foundation in Paris.
The executive of CubaCoop, which was created in 1995, told Prensa Latina that the impact of this aggressive policy is severe in all sectors of society and the economy of the Caribbean island.
Fernandez's statements coincide with Thursday's vote at the UN General Assembly on Cuba's report on Resolution 73/8, "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.
There is no doubt that the UN vote will lead to another resounding triumph, just as it has happened year after year since 1992, the president of CubaCoop said.
He added that solidarity and support to Cuba must continue growing beyond the UN forum, which is of great importance, because it demonstrates the isolation of the United States with its aggressive and extraterritorial policy.
According to the report that Cuba will present in less than 48 hours at the UN, the blockade officially imposed by the White House in 1962 has caused this country losses of more than 138.840 billion dollars.
