HAVANA, Oct 7 (ACN) A delegation of Cuban businessmen and officials shows at the International Tourism Fair of Latin America FIT 2019 the Cuban progress in this sector despite the impact of the U.S. blockade and the new measures adopted by the Donald Trump administration.
The Cuban delegation showed the attractions of the island and the growth of its infrastructure and launched its tourism fair, which will celebrate four decades in 2020 and will be held in Varadero Beach, Prensa Latina reported.
Barbara Cruz, director general of marketing at the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, told this sector is preparing for a high international season with quality and this time hotels have been recovered and there are new products related to the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana, to be held next November.
She also highlighted the opening of new hotels such as the one in Prado and Malecon and the Melia Internacional in Varadero and announced new facilities will be built this year in Cayo Guillermo and another tourist destination will be opened in Cayo Cruz, which is part of the Jardines de la Reina archipelago.
Located at La Rural, the International Tourism Fair of Latin America FIT 2019 is attended by more than 1,700 exhibitors from 52 nations and will run until tomorrow.
