Cuba to Host 4th Foreign Investment Forum

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 17 (ACN) The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), the Chamber of Commerce and ProCuba are convening the 4th Investment Forum to be held in Havana on November 6 and 7.

The Expocuba fairgrounds will host the meeting on the occasion of the 37th edition of the International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2019) where all sectors of the Cuban economy will be represented, the organizers announced today at the Havana Convention Center.
Before businessmen, diplomatic corps, national and foreign press, Debora Rivas, General Director of Foreign Investment of MINCEX, explained this forum and the fair will take place in very difficult conditions for Cuba, in the middle of the tightening of the blockade, and in the last months with the entry into force of Title III of the Helms Burton Law.
For this reason we face an additional group of threats and pressures from the US administration with the purpose of choking the Cuban economy and making social rights fail, she emphasized.
Despite the genocidal policy, worsened these days by the fuel situation, Cuba expects to attract more foreign investment in the next edition of FIHAV, the country's largest stock exchange, to be held from Nov. 4-8, Rivas added.
The forum will contribute to raise more foreign capital and includes the launch of the 2019-2020 Business Portfolio, bilateral meetings and panels on investments in Cuba.
