HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 20 (ACN) The XVI Feria Expocaribe, which meets in this city, will celebrate today the event of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) The Caribbean first, in the context of the economic and trade integration of the region.
The event that seeks to prioritize and promote the economic and social development of the Caribbean area will take place at the Meliá Santiago Hotel with the participation of personalities, heads of delegations, ambassadors and other diplomats attending the International Fair.
According to sources from the Organizing Committee, the XII Business Forum of the Greater Caribbean, sponsored by the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), will also continue in the Salón de los Vitrales, in the Plaza de la Revolución Antonio Maceo, where the first day of the forum focused on the necessary integration in all spheres of these countries.
In addition, this day will include business meetings between Cuba and foreign firms in order to speed up the process of negotiating projects with foreign capital in Cuba and between companies from the eastern provinces and Camaguey.
Representatives of 80 companies from 25 nations, presidents and directors of chambers and institutions promoting commerce and more than 300 exhibitors in an area of three thousand square meters of the Heredia theater in Santiago de Cuba take part in the exhibition.
Also planned are business meetings between Cuba and Venezuela, which is present in the XVI edition of this Fair with eight of its companies producing food, coffee, cocoa and aluminum structures.
When inaugurating this commercial exchange the day before, Ricardo Cabrisas, vice-president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, affirmed that this commercial exchange is ratified as an important regional exchange forum.
Scheduled to be held until June 22, the event will be attended by various economic actors, including non-agricultural cooperatives and non-state workers offering goods and services, authorities of the Organizing Committee revealed previously in a press conference.
