Complementing hotel offerings and promoting scenarios such as Havana appear in the portfolio as core elements for a spiral that has been growing in the last years.
The statement by experts that Cuban tourism has this growing trend is the most outstanding sign not only for the island, but significant news for the Caribbean area.
With the constant renewal of its hotel infrastructure, diverse recreational projects and the authorities' concern for the quality of services, Cuba is claiming its privileged space in the sector's market.

Marrero said that Havana´s hotel plant amounts to 69,514 rooms, 76 percent of them are four and five stars category.
The statistics report a considerable drop in air travel by Americans to the Caribbean island due to pressure from Washington, although the number of cruise passengers is increasing.
Canada remains leader in sending tourist to Cuba, followed by United States, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Mexico and Spain.
On the links with the non-state sector, the minister stressed that there are two thousand restaurants and 24,217 rooms in rental houses.
In all Cuba there are almost 70,000 rooms in hotels with an international level, and in Havana there are 11 five-star hotels, but 10 more of that category must be opened by the end of 2023.
There is a tourism development plan for 2030, and there would be 100,000 rooms for that date throughout Cuba. The greater weight is executed with own resources, but also foreign investment is being prioritized.
There are already 5,000 rooms of mixed capital, in addition to 27 joint ventures which are ready to start investments.
There are also 21 foreign companies managing facilities in Cuba with more than 45,000 rooms, which indicate that 64 percent of those are under the modality of administration and marketing contracts.
In addition, the most important event of Cuban tourism, FITCuba International Fair, will take place this year in Havana, with Spain as guest of honor and the trips of congresses and incentives in the center of attention.
According to Marrero, another of the key issues in Cuban tourism is the attribute that provides citizen security as Cuba is country where there is no organized crime, kidnappings or drug cartels.
