Cuban major destination ready for tourism high season

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (acn) Executives and workers of the tourism sector in the Cuban province of Ciego de Avila are getting ready all hotel and extra-hotel facilities and are also in search of suppliers and other entities to face the coming high tourism season.

Iyolexis Correa, delegate of the Tourism Ministry in the province, told ACN that Jardines del Rey destination is working on the recovery of some 900 rooms affected after the passage of Hurricane Irma and Tropical Storm Alberto.
This will allow –she said- having available all of the 8,640 in operation, distributed in 22 housing buildings, including 18 hotels.
She added that they already made the arrangements to organize the supplies of foods, including fruits and vegetables, during all the season; in addition to pork meat and beer in bulk, since the presence of the latter two products was not stable in the previous period.
Correa added that five less flights than in the previous season will arrive this one, but two new arrivals from Russia and one operation from Poland have already been confirmed.
In recent visit to this territory, Manuel Marrero, Cuban Tourism Minister, noted that they expect a growth in the number of tourists from Canada, Cuba´s leader tourism partner with 83 percent of the entire market.
