HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 21 (acn) The nomination of six hotel facilities of the Melia Hotels International Cuba company for the 2018 World Travel Awards is a new success for Cuban tourism against the defamatory campaign of the United States government.
According to the announcement published today by Prensa Latina (PL) news agency, the hotels Melia Cohiba, in Havana, and Melia Cayo Coco, in Cuban central region, are among those chosen as Cuba's Leading Hotel.
In the Cuba's Leading Resort segment there were nominated the Paradisus Princesa del Mar, Paradisus Varadero and Paradisus Rio de Oro, three exclusive eco-resorts under the all-inclusive concept.
The Master Suite the Level room, in the Melia Cohiba hotel, is the last nominee in section Cuba's Leading Hotel Suite.
The World Travel Awards, created in 1993, distinguish the quality in the various activities related to the global travel and tourism industry.
Currently, the company is internationally recognized as a hallmark of excellence for tourism industry.
So far in 2018, more than three million tourists from different parts of the world arrived in Cuba despite restrictions imposed by the United States on travel to the Caribbean island.
