HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 23 (ACN) A Cuban Food Industry delegation promoted in Germany investment opportunities during meetings with government officials and at the Food Tec 2018 International Food and Liqueurs Fair, held this week in the city of Cologne.
Deputy minister of the Cuban Food Industry Yanoski Calderin, who headed the island's delegation, met with the Director General for EU Policy, International Cooperation and Fisheries in the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, German Jeub on the Cuban Economic and Social Program up to the year 2030, particularly about the food industry.
The Cuban official also met with the Chairman of the Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association, an organization grouping over 300 food companies representing 80 percent of all sales in the German food sector, according to a news release by the Cuban embassy in Germany.
Earlier this year, Cuban and German business people met in Havana to assess new bilateral economic projects. Representatives of 12 companies from Baden-Wurttemberg state, in Germany attended the forum in areas such as food production, renewable energy, construction and biotechnology.
Germany is considered the first European source of tourists to Cuba.
Both nations are currently boosting bilateral links in several economic sectors.
