Cuba and Bolivia look at larger bilateral trade

Cuba and Bolivia look at larger bilateral tradeHAVANA, Cuba, Mar 9 (ACN) Bolivia and Cuba are considering a short-term boost of their bilateral trade of goods and services, said Cuba's first deputy foreign trade minister Ileana Nunez.

This issue was addressed during a meeting in the Bolivian capital La Paz by a bilateral working team boosting bilateral economic exchange, which was headed by Bolivian Foreign Minister Fernando Huanacuni and the Cuban government official.
Ileana Nunez said they are working on financial ways to guarantee safe payments in both directions and revising logistic issues to boost the trade of goods on mechanisms of compensation.
The setting up of the bilateral Cuba-Bolivia working team came on the heels of talks in May 2017 between Cuba's first vice-president Miguel Diaz-Canel and Bolivia's President Evo Morales along with Bolivian vice-president Alvaro Garcia.
On that occasion, the two sides agreed to the need of boosting economic and commercial links in tune with the high level of political relations.
The bilateral trade expansion project includes the trade of goods and services, financing, logistics, joint businesses and investment, the first deputy foreign trade minister said.
