HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 6 (ACN) Cuba and Cape Verde ratified on Tuesday in Havana the firm commitment in continuing to strengthen friendship and cooperation ties between both nations and grow the level of development, reported CubaMinrex website.
The information also informs on the meeting held by President of Cape Verde Jorge Carlos de Almeida and Cuban Vice President Mercedes Lopez Acea who is on a two day official visit to the African nation as part of a tour of the continent.
Lopez Acea also met with the Prime Minister of Cape Verde Jose Ulisses de Pina Correia and President of the National Assembly Jorge Mauricio dos Santos whom examined the current bilateral ties.
According to the report, both sides shared the commitment in taking advantage of the existing potential to increase mutual relations.
The Cuban government official so held a successful meeting with former President Pedro Verona Rodrigues Pires.
The Cuban Vice President also meet with health and sports professionals from the Caribbean island, members of the Solidarity with Cuba Association and Cuban residents in Cape Verde.
The exchanges were held in a friendly and fraternal environment, reported the Foreign Ministry.
The Cuban Vice President's African tour also included visits to Equatorial Guinea, Ghana and Seychelles aimed at reinforcing the historic and fraternal friendship and solidarity ties, concludes the note.
