Over 4.2 million foreigners visited Cuba in first 11 monthsHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 30 (ACN) José Manuel Bisbé president of the Travel Cuba agency announced in Havana that Cuba recorded the arrival of over 4.2 million visitors until November 26.

Of the aforementioned figure, some 573 thousand visitors come from the United States, in a context marked by the measures of US President Donald Trump, which hinders the normal development of relations between the two countries, he said.

The Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) forecast the island-nation will receive another half a million visitors before year´s end.

According to Bisbé, the country is at a great moment to respond to this increase, as it has about 68 thousand rooms distributed in a hotel with more than half of its facilities rated four or five stars.

He also noted that among the values of the Caribbean country to attract tourism highlight the benefits of its climate and nature, security and hospitality of Cubans.

He also emphasized that the Island is rich in cultural and historical traditions and spaces worthy of the title of World Heritage, awarded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Bisbé said that with a view to future growth, the priorities are in hotel construction and the renovation of other facilities, as well as in the development of real estate projects associated with golf courses and the creation of theme parks.

As specified, in the plans until 2030 Cuba plans to build 35 thousand rooms, as well as to build 24 projects linked to golf, more than 20 related to nautical or marine points and another 47 dedicated to adventure.
