CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Nov 22 (acn) The Cuban province of Cienfuegos exported 23 products in 2017, with a recognized level of acceptance in the receiving countries, thanks to compliance with the quality standards required by international markets.
José Ramon Ignacio Fernandez, specialist of the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade (MINCEX by its Spanish acronym), told ACN that sugar, coffee, cigar, charcoal and seafood are the main products sent abroad from this territory.
Spain, Turkey, Russia and France are the European markets most benefited by Cuban goods, and they are followed by countries in Asia, some in Central America and Canada, he said.
According to Fernandez, Cienfuegos exports an important volume of charcoal to the United States, where it has great acceptance.
All the products go abroad meeting the Cuban quality regulations, approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which allows Cuba to insert its goods in international markets, said the specialist.
In the current year the merchandise exported by the province have reported to the country more than 285 million Cuban pesos, a considerable amount for the sustainability of the national economy, where imports burden the state budget.
