HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 12 (acn) Cuban professionals emphasized on Thursday in Havana in the growth possibilities of the economy, taking into account the domestic adjustments that could constitute development factors for the country in the context marked by the US economic blockade against the Caribbean island.
In one of the panels of the 2nd International Encounter on Management and Business Leadership held at the Convention Center in Havana, the recommendations was the need to modernize the infrastructure of the state sector.
The Cuban experts of Economic Sciences also pointed to the indispensable growth of the business management, both aspects included in the current economic transformations.
PhD, Juan Triana specialist of the Cuban Economy Research Center pointed out that decision making and the non-state sector, that currently gathers over half a million people, must be accelerated.
Triana referred that among the main challenges is to achieve more foreign investment and growth in the Gross Domestic Product of over 4 percent.
The event had some 15 conferences and panels on the evolution and tendencies of workspaces for directives, successful practices of the Cuban economic model among other issues.
The event includes debates with the participation of some 300 Cuban and foreign experts, said Oscar Luis Hung, President of the National Association of Economists and Accounts during the opening session.
The 2nd International Encounter on Management and Business Leadership will conclude on Friday after working in 9 commissions.
