HOLGUIN, Cuba, May 5 (ACN) Cubagolf S.A. and German company CON-IMPEX Touristik signed a letter of intent to create a joint venture for the construction of a unique real estate complex in Punta Gorda, Camagüey province, which will include an international marina.

The legal document was signed by Raudel Garcia and Klaus Apple, general managers of these firms from Cuba and Germany, respectively, in the context of the 37th International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2017, which takes place at Playa Pesquero Hotel, in Holguín.
Garcia explained that this step opens a process of negotiation that must be concluded at the end of this year or beginning of 2018 with the constitution of the mixed company.
He pointed out that the initiative envisages, in a first stage, the construction of around 500 facilities, an international marina with capacity for 300 berths, and a five-star hotel of about 300 rooms.
Apple noted that CON-IMPEX Touristik has followed with optimism this joint business, of great importance in the progress of tourism in this Caribbean destination.
Cubagolf also signed another letter of intent with the Chinese company Yantai Golden Mountain for the development of a real estate project associated with golf courses in Loma Linda, Guardalavaca.
Garcia stated that they will also sign an agreement with the Spanish group La Playa Golf & Resorts S.L. aimed at building a real estate complex in Punta Colorada, in Pinar del Río, which will be one of the largest in Latin America.
There are other projects in execution such as Bello Monte, 30 kilometers east of Havana, where companies Cubagolf S.A. and China Beijing Enterprises Holdings Limited build a luxury hotel, apartments and houses on 336 hectares.
Currently, there is another joint venture operating in the province of Matanzas named Carbonera S.A. which was created in 2014 with Cuban capital and the British company Esencia Hotels and Resorts.
According to José Daniel, Director of Development and Investments of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, this year it is expected to authorize another similar project in partnership with the Spanish chain Globalia, to build condominiums and golf courses in El Salado, near Mariel Special Development Zone.
