HAVANA, Cuba, May 5 (acn) Jose Manuel Bisbe, president of Viajes Cuba, announced in the context of the International Tourism Fair ¨FitCuba 2017¨ that new means of transportation will begin to provide services promoted by this business group.
In his presentation on the benefits of Cuba for Circuits Tourism, he said they include in the offer the camper vehicles, which enjoy great acceptance, and others such as tricycles and electric bicycles, according to Excelencias specialized magazine.
Bisbe highlighted the network of national and international airports, now with new air thanks to regular flights to and from US cities, which "will allow connecting any Cuban destination with the whole world."
He also referred to the possibilities for increased cruise tourism on the Caribbean island, with its main ports in Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.
With regard to the transport and road infrastructure developed, he praised the work with Transtur, Transgaviota, Viazul and Taxis Cuba agencies, as well as the recent repairs of highways such as the Moa-Baracoa road and the access route to Maisí, in Cuba Far East.
In Holguin, a beautiful setting hosting the current edition of Cuba's main tourist fair, Alejandro Varela, deputy director for the Americas of the UN World Tourism Organization, said that Cuba has begun to position itself and is on the right way.
He added that the Americas account for 16 percent of total world tourism, and a quarter of the world's income in that regard.
Hence, the diversification of transport and their efficient operation is one of the pillars for development of tourism in Cuba.
Data released about this sector show that more and more businessmen, institutions and potential tourists include Cuba in their agendas as an object of interest.
The tourist boom imposes the challenge of continuing to perfect the offers and raising the standards of quality; only then the demands can be met and positions can be climbed in a demanding and profitable industry.
