International Meeting on Accounting and Finances in Havana

Havana, Cuba, May 4 (acn) The 11th International Meeting on Accounting, Audit and Finances is scheduled from May 22nd to the 24th at Havana's Convention Center where participants will exchange on the current Cuban economic model.

The National Association of Economists and Accountants (ANEC) organizes the event in cooperation with the University of Havana, the Ministry of Finances and Prices, Central Bank, the National office of Statistics and Information and others.

Oscar Luis Hung Penton, President of ANEC informed that the encounter responds to the implementation of point number 7 of the Guidelines approved by the 7th Party Congress that establishes to "continue strengthening accounts in order to constitute a tool in the decision making and guarantee reliable financial and statistical information".

In presence of the Vice President of ANEC, Ramon Labanino Salazar explained that close to 400 professionals will participate in the event and 150 of the participants are foreigners, mainly from Ecuador, Colombia, Chile and Peru.

The President of the event's scientific committee, Francisco Borras Atienzar commented that the event will be held in the context of the 90 th anniversary of the accounting studies in Cuba, one of the oldest experience in Latin America which will service as a motivation to dedicate a space of reflection on the field.

Borras Atienzar announced that the master conferences will be presented during the three-day meetings; there will also be working commissions, panels and book presentations.

The main issues to be debated are financial accounting and costs, audit and control, bank and finances and public budgets, he said.

Jeronimo Ricardez Jimenez, Director of the School of Accounting and Administration of the University Veracruzana said that ANEC is a reference organization on the international level because it has achieved linking research with the exercise of the profession.

The National Committee of the ANEC approved holding its 8th Congress in June of 2019 year of its 40th anniversary.
The National Association of Economists and Accountants gathers Cuban professionals linked to work in economics and among its objectives is to contribute to professional upgrading.
