HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 30 (acn) Ricardo Cabrisas, Cuba´s Minister of Economy and Planning, received yesterday Ms. Jet Bussemaker, Minister of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands, who traveled to Havana heading an educational delegation from her country.
Ms. Silveria E. Jacobs, Minister of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports of St. Maarten, and Ms. Alexandra Valkenburg, Dutch Ambassador in Cuba, also participated in the welcoming ceremony.
Both Bussemaker and Jacobs expressed their interest in strengthening ties with Cuba in the education, science and research field, confirming that this visit will contribute to the enhancement of exchanges in various sectors such as water, environment, tourism, primary health care and agri-food, among others.
As part of the program, the Dutch delegation held meetings with its counterparts from the Ministries of Higher Education; Science, Technology and Environment; Education and Culture, as well as with INDER.
They also visited several educational centers in Havana where they verified the experience and high preparation and strength of the human resources in the Caribbean nation.
