HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 6 (ACN) The traditional humidors auction that closed the 19th Habanos Festival in Havana raised 1.2 million Euros by selling seven luxury humidors, monies that will be donated to the Cuban Public Health system.
During the evening gala held at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in the outskirts of Havana, the organizers of the Festival auctioned the handmade pieces by the main Cuban brands: Cohíba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás, Hoyo de Monterrey and H. Upmann
The night´s highlight was a humidor by the Bolivar brand dedicated to the 115th anniversary of that brand.
This year the Festival gathered for five days over 2000 participants, including distributors, producers, collectors, artists and aficionados from over 50 countries.
They had the chance of visiting tobacco plantations, cigar factories, attended tasting and paring activities as well as the launching of new cigars.
