Auditors Control Handing of Aid to Hurricane Victims in Eastern Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 25 (ACN) Over one and a half hundred auditors from the Cuban General Comptroller´s Office in the eastern province of Guantanamo are supervising the way in which resources to clean the damage left by hurricane Matthew on personal property are being managed.

Deputy comptroller in Guantanamo, Malvis Henry Agramonte said that the auditor´s action is to control that the indications given by the government are strictly met, as well as all complementary legal norms and the accords of the Provincial Defense Council, in order to guarantee the control of the resources and detect on time the occurrence of any violation of the process.
The auditors are also training personnel in the norms and proceedings at the places expending the aid, wholesale markets, and offices where paperwork is done, as well as in the facilities of enterprises and other entities involved in the recovery process.
The auditors also meet the locals to get complaints, denunciations in order to guarantee the orderly flow of the recovery stage and the handing of the resources to the affected persons.
Given the large damage, the allocation of materials will be a progressive process, the official explained and added that the Provincial Comptroller´s Office is at the same time supervising the work of the experts with the territorial audit system.
