HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 12 (acn) Delegations of Cuba and Slovenia reiterated on Tuesday in Ljubljana, capital of that European country, the willingness to strengthen bilateral relations in all sectors even more.
According to a press release by the Cuban embassy to Austria, the third meeting of the political consultation mechanism between the ministries of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and Slovenia was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere.
The state of relations in all sectors was reviewed during the meeting, in which exchanges were held on aspects of the multilateral and global agendas and topical subjects related to Latin America and the Caribbean and Europe were analyzed.
The Cuban delegation thanked Slovenia for its support of the resolution the island presents every year at the United Nations General Assembly against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba and for its constructive stance in the framework of relations with the European Union.
The Slovenian party ratified its support for Cuba in the two issues and declared it is in favor of the prompt signing of the agreement on the political dialogue and cooperation between the European Union and the Caribbean island.
It was agreed to reactivate and plan the increase of bonds in the economic-commercial, scientific and cultural sectors, and in general to strengthen contacts between the authorities.
The mechanism of political consultation between the ministries of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and Slovenia has been in force since 2011.
The two countries will celebrate in 2017 the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
