HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 23 (acn) The governments of Cuba and Ecuador gave new steps on Thursday in Quito towards the deepening of bonds in the sphere of water resources with the signing of joint cooperation agreements, Prensa Latina reported.
The agreements were signed between the top representatives of the National Secretariat of Water in Ecuador (Senagua), Alexis Sanchez, and the National Institute of Water Resources of Cuba (INRH), Ines Maria Chapman.
These agreements give continuity to a Memorandum of Understanding made official in 2014, to concrete joint cooperation on water issues.
In this occasion, areas of assistance in waterworks, the treatment of sewage, infrastructure maintenance and environmental security in hydrographic catching areas were established.
