HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 28 (acn) Japan´s International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is actively supporting the implementation in Cuba of development projects in the areas of agriculture, energy, health and the environment.
JICA representative in Havana Ozawa Shoji told PL news agency that Japanese experts are currently offer advice in rice cultivation and he added that as part of collaboration plans, calculated at 3 million dollars in donations.
Japanese specialists are implementing a solar energy project in the Isle of Youth, South of western Mayabeque province, which includes technology and funding.
JICA has also made donations of medical equipment to 15 Cuban hospitals, said the official who attended a forum at Havana´s Hemingway Marina on Monday about the results of a JICA cooperation program at the island´s Water Resources Institute on underground water management and saline intrusion.
