International Economy Event: A Contribution to Changes in CubaHAVANA, Cuba, May 23 (acn) The International Congress on Economic Management and Development gathered on Thursday in Havana the participation of professionals from 21 counties whose objective is to debate and contribute ideas that will benefit the Cuban economy.

The Convention Center will be the venue of the four day meeting with 969 participants of them 155 foreign delegates mainly from Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Honduras, Colombia and Panama contributing to a rich debate of experiences in their own nations.

Lina Peraza, Cuban Finance and Price Minister closed the event highlighting the importance of the event reflecting on the main problems affecting the local and world communities.

The Cuban government official expressed before the presence of colleges and world institutions the context of the event after the 7th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party where new action plans were approved to continue with the economic development on the island.

She added that in harmony with the cooperative and private sectors, the socialist state firms must continue its predominant role in the national economy and its training and improvement which are key in guaranteeing the expected outcome.

On behalf of the continent's economists, Oscar Luis Hung Penton, President of the National Association of Cuban Economists and Accountants and the event's organizing committee read an agreement condemning the coup attempt against constitutionally elected President DilmaRouseff in Brazil.

The position of the professionals was taken at the General Assembly of the Latin American and Caribbean Economists Association held as part of the Congress.

One of the Cuban Five, Ramon Labanino called out for all to defend the progressive governments in Latin America, which are currently in danger due to the development of the right wing sectors that attempt to destroy the social achievements in countries like Venezuela and Brazil.

The 10th International Encounter of Accounting, Audits and Finance, the 4thInternational Meeting of Public Administration for Development, 3rd International Meeting on Cooperatives and the 1st International Encounter of Management and Business Leadership were also part of the event.

Supported by 16 scientific societies, the experts discussed issues like internal control, bank and finances, local development, policy and administration, logistics and productive chains.
