HAVANA, Cuba, May 20 (acn) With the signing of a work schedule until 2017 to promote bilateral economic relations, the 11th Session of the Committee of Cuban-Spanish Business Cooperation, which in this capital brings together businessmen of both nations, was inaugurated on Thursday.
The program draws up actions in order to deepen the exchange of information and links between business communities of the two countries, while supporting the strengthening of commercial ties and in the field of investments.
The opening of the meeting, at the 1930 Hall of the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, was presided over by Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, as well as by other national authorities and top officials of the business delegation from the Iberian country.
Juan Gonzalez, president of the Cuban section of the Bilateral Committee, said that during the two-day meeting a seminar will be held on management in the port sector, considered a model of success in Spain, and Portfolio of Opportunities for Foreign Investment in Cuba will be presented to the Iberian party.
Representing the Spanish section, Modesto Pineiro highlighted the interest in expanding economic relations with Cuba, along with the potential of many Spanish businesses companies in sectors key to development.
The Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, meanwhile, stressed the importance of these meetings in the context of the process of updating of the Cuban economic model.
Attending this bilateral meeting are businessmen from the sectors of architecture, financial services, wholesale trade, storage, renewable energy, tourism, construction, production of household appliances and recycling industry.
