Cuba and Algeria Strengthen Cooperation in Water ResourcesHAVANA, Cuba, May 10 (acn) Cuban experts will train executives of the Algerian National Agency for Dams and Water Transfers (ANBT) in the management of water resources, Prensa Latina reported on Tuesday from Algiers.

In this way, cooperation in the area of water resources will be strengthened, particularly in the management of dams, water transfer and treatment of sewage, according to the source.
The document was signed by ANBT director general Arezki Barraki and Cubahidraulica director Manuel Fuentes, during the final part of the 20th session of the Intergovernmental Commission.
The action was preceded by official talks between the Cuban Minister of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation, Rodrigo Malmierca, and the Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform in Algeria, Abdelmalek Boudiaf.
This Intergovernmental Commission, which concludes today, addresses issues in economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, in addition to encouraging bilateral relations in the spheres of culture, sports and energy.
At the opening of the meeting, Malmierca announced the signing of an Outline Agreement in the field of health and the extension of exchanges in the areas of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.
This type of meeting between Havana and Algiers has been held regularly for the last 37 years and each of them marks an important stage in the history of the two countries that share the same ideals and values of freedom, justice and struggle for independence and liberation, according to Boudiaf.
The agreements signed by this committee reflect Cuba's commitment and disposition to work with the Algerian authorities and people, expressed a year ago by Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, during an official visit to that nation.
