HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 30 (acn) Agro Industrial Process is a new individual university career which will begin as an experimental initiative next September, announced the Ministry of Higher Educastion (MES).
During a conversation with the Cuban News Agency, Manuel Valle Fasco, Director of the MES professional training he stressed that next season the experiment will begin in the municipalities of San Nicolas and Quivican in Mayabeque province and later extended to other provinces.
He commented that he expects an enrolment in correspondence with the demands of the municipalities and pointed out that the Agrarian University of Havana has created the conditions to welcome the future students in order for this experimental stage to be a success.
The education representative mentioned that the studies are opened to several higher educational facilities in the country and highlighted the benefits in slowly incorporating technical professions in the so called long distance education, which has traditionally been used in Humanities.
He emphasized that this modality is characterized by the independence of the education process where the self-preparation of the students is an important factor.
The MES professor expressed that from the new technological scenarios and the use of computer science are educational methods that the students can use in their learning process.
We are transforming and improving these types of courses and looking at them in different perspectives because all students do not have the same resources and we need to look for ways of individual education that is accessible for those that are interested in this method, said Valle Fasco.
The basic objectives of the Higher Education Ministry is achieving good quality higher education in different courses and teaching scenarios and prioritizing the integral formation of professors and students.
