HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 17 (acn) Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Vice-president of the Council of Ministers, received Pirkko Hämäläinen, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland.
During the meeting, held on Thursday morning, the two parties had a fruitful exchange on the positive state of bilateral relations and prospects for their development.
They agreed that the implementation of the treatment of the Cuban debt, as agreed in the context of negotiations held with the Ad-Hoc Group of the Paris Club is an important contribution to the development of economic, commercial and financial relations between the two countries.
The bilateral agreement regularizing the debt was signed by Vice-president Ricardo Cabrisas on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Cuba, and by he Undersecretary of State, Pirkko Hämäläinen, acting as representative of the Government of the Republic of Finland.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Roy Eriksson, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland in Mexico, concurremt to Cuba, and other top officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Isaac Hernandez, Director of the Central Bank of Cuba; Aleida Gonzalez, Vice President of the National Bank of Cuba; Yamila Fernandez, Director General of Economics of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment; and Elio Rodriguez, Director for Europe and Canada, and Manuel Pirez, Director of International Law, both of them from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
