Russia, Guest of Honor to Cuban Industry Fair

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 24 (acn) Russia is the guest country to the 2nd International Fair and Convention of the Cuban Industry, running June 20 to 25 in Havana.

Russia will be the guest of honor to the event for the first time since it opened in 2014, said Cuban Industry Ministry´s official Adriana Barcelo.
Russia has actively contributed to Cuban economic and social development programs and made a significant contribution to the modernization of the Havana metal industry after granting a 100-million-dollar credit line to purchase equipment and technology.
The Russian provider is Metallurgmash International Union of Metal Equipment Producers, which has branches in Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Italy, Germany and Finland.
In statements to reporters, Adriana Barcelo said that the convention will be attended by some 2 thousand representatives, mostly from Cuba, along with at least 500 entrepreneurs to display their products and services in the fair at Havana´s Pabexpo exhibit ground.
Conferences will focus on industrial maintenance, recycling, the metal processing industry, quality , environmental protection, electronics, and others.
The active participation by Russia in Cuban economic and social development programs was stressed at the opening session last November of a pavilion of the Russian Federation at the Havana International Trade Fair.
