Cuban Minister of Food Industry visits Angola

Cuban Minister of Food Industry visits AngolaHAVANA, Cuba, Jan 29 (acn) Maria del Carmen Concepcion Gonzalez, Cuban Minister of Food Industry, started today a working visit to Angola, in the context of strengthening bilateral and cooperation relations, Prensa Latina reported.

The Minister was received by Dielubaka Ndombele, Head of International Exchanges of the Angolan Ministry of Fisheries, Cuban ambassador Gisela Garcia and other representatives of Havana in the African country.

Invited by Victoria de Barros Neto, Angolan Minister of Fisheries, the visit covers interests linked to this sector and the food industry.

She said that the main objective of her stay "is to review the status of implementation of the agreements resulting from the visit of Barros Neto to Cuba in November, strengthening ties with the ministries of fisheries and industry, and promote business opportunities."

According to the agenda, Concepción will first have a contact today with Barros Neto in the ministerial headquarters and during evening hours she will tour the Coppelia ice cream factory, located in the municipality of Viana, where Cuban employees are working.

Tomorrow she will go to the Cabo Ledo Artisanal Fisheries Collection Center and on Sunday she will visit Agostinho Neto Mausoleum.

On Monday, the Cuban minister will travel to Namibe province, where she will visit the Academy of Fisheries and factories producing fish meal and conservation.

Ndombele declared they will take advantage of the presence of Concepción to study mechanisms of materialization of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Cuba, in addition to cooperation in the area of food, aquaculture and fisheries.
