Shrimp catching season starts in Cuba

CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Jan 13 (acn) With the lifting of ban for shrimp, the fishing fleet in the province of Cienfuegos went to sea to reach the goal of 315 tonnes of the crustacean in the current fishing season which ends in June this year.Yansislay Hernandez Valdes, director of the industrial fishing company, said there is a huge amount of animals from this species in the area of Jardines de la Reina, south of Ciego de Avila, where fishing activities are conducted.

Angel Pimentel Hernández, skipper of C -10, the most comprehensive boat last year, said they expect to be back in the top positions, and the crew consisting of nine men is ready to do the job.
