HAVANA, Cuba, Jan. 2 (acn) The digital magazine Report Colombia al Dia highlighted on its most recent number the growth registered by Cuban tourism in 2015, which increased until November by 17.6 percent.
The specialized publication stresses that in those eleven months three million 139,764 foreign visitors arrived on the island, with Canada as the main country sending tourists to Cuba, followed by European nations like Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy, the Cubasi Web site reported on Friday.
The magazine adds that the current tourism boom in Cuba coincides with the new scenario of normalization of diplomatic relations between Havana and the United States, from where 147,401 travelers arrived on the island from January 1, 2015, until mid- December.
Cuba received over three million foreign tourists in 2014, a year in which the sector contributed about 2.7 billion dollars to the country's finances, concludes the Colombian magazine.
