Cuba and Sweden Seek to Strengthen Bilateral RelationsHAVANA, Cuba, Dec. 18 (acn) With the aim of strengthening and expanding exchanges, Cuba and the Kingdom of Sweden signed on Friday in Havana a memorandum of understanding to establish a practical and effective mechanism of consultation between Foreign Ministries.

Rogelio Sierra, Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Elisabeth Eklund, Ambassador of the European country to Havana, signed the legal document that reflects the will of both governments to strengthen bilateral bonds.
At the headquarters of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Sierra stressed that this instrument is an important step for developing cooperation ties and broaden political dialogue on various international issues.
He also said that it allows to address differences that may exist, on the basis of mutual respect.
This type of agreement is number 19 we sign with member states of the European Union, which shows the good health and development of bilateral relationships with members of that regional bloc, he highlighted.
Meanwhile, Eklund pointed out that the signing of this memorandum demonstrates the desire of her country to deepen cooperation with the Cuban government and people.
Sweden has a very close and deep relationship with Cuba, which has remained uninterrupted since 1903, asserted the diplomat.
