HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 29 (acn) Trade between Cuba and China from January to September 2015 amounted one thousand 596 million dollars, a figure that ratifies the Asian nation as the island's second most important partner worldwide.
According to statements to ACN by Ma Quekiang, Economic Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in Cuba, that figure represents, so far, an increase of almost 57 percent compared with that achieved in the same period of 2014.
He informed that exports to Cuba from his country were worth some one thousand 330 million dollars, for an increase of 82.4 percent; while sales to Cuba decreased in that period, due to reductions in nickel.
The second trade partner of Cuba -after Venezuela- will attend with a broad representation of its business community the 33rd edition of Havana's International Trade Fair, to be held on November 2-7 in Expocuba, its usual venue.
In this regard, the Economic Counselor said that more than 40 Chinese companies will be present with a wide diversity of products, among which he highlighted automobiles, machinery, electrical appliances, textiles and furs.
