HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 19 (acn) Cuban Foreign Minister (FM) Bruno Rodriguez met at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry with Claudia Ruiz Massieu, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States, who is on a working visit to Cuba.
The Cuban FM expressed satisfaction with the good level of relations between Mexico and Cuba and its promising prospect and upward development, based on historic ties of friendship and solidarity.
He added that there is great potential for progress in the cultural, scientific, academic, and economic sectors and in sports, among others.
We have, said the Cuban FM, very intense relations with Mexico and willingness to increase them.
In this regard, he described as very promising the presence of Mexican investors in the Special Development Zone of Mariel, where Mexican companies have already settled.
Massieu referred to the 20 agreements signed at the meeting of rectors of the universities of her country and the island and recalled the visit to Cuba of two delegations of Mexican company representatives and businessmen interested in being part of this new investment opportunity.
In the tourist area, she explained, there is an important cooperation to exchange experiences, promote flows between the two countries and to see ourselves with a complementary vision that will benefit the Caribbean with greater growth opportunities.
