HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 13 (acn) The US CheapAir Company has announced the sale of tickets as of Wednesday, April 15, for direct flights to Cuba from the cities of New York, Tampa and Miami.
Charter flights to Cuba are nothing new; the new thing here is the on-line booking, said CheapAir CEO Jeff Klee.
In February, the company flew to Cuba with a stop-over in Mexico, which made ticket prices as expensive as 1000 dollars from Miami to Havana. But with on-line bookings for direct flights, a ticket to Cuba will cost 481 dollars, still considered expensive but similar to the prices given by travel agencies, local Miami media reported.
CheapAir announcement says that the on-line sale of tickets will start on April 15 for Cuban destinations such as Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Santa Clara and Cienfuegos.
