HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 12 (acn) Cuba and Spain will progress in the strengthening and diversification of their economic relations, on the occasion of the visit to the island that Jaime Garcia-Legaz, Secretary of State for Trade of the Iberian nation, will make this week.
According to the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, representatives of the two countries will meet in a business forum to be held on April 14th in Havana.
At the meeting, officials of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment will present new business opportunities offered by the island through policies approved by Law 118 and for the Special Development Zone of Mariel.
Included in the forum’s agenda are the addresses by Joaquin Gay de Montella, vice president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations, and Modesto Piñeiro, vice president of the Chamber of Spain.
Projects aimed at boosting the development of key sectors such as tourism, construction and energy will be tackled by the parties in their direct exchanges to identify new opportunities for business and investment.
In addition, in the afternoon of April 14, the 3rd Third Session of the Cuba-Hungary Business Committee, in which issues of interest will be dealt with to expand bilateral economic ties, will also take place, the Cuban Chamber of Commerce informed.
