MS Serenissima Wraps up Cruise Season in Eastern Cuba

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, APR 1 (acn) The cruise MS Serenissima, with tourists from Finland, officially closed the 2014-2015 cruise season in this city, considered the one with the largest number of berths in the last five years.

Under a persistent drizzle the vessel anchored in the pier and then the travelers, mostly seniors, enjoyed dancing and traditional music with the group Son de gala, which played songs like Saludos Compay and De Cuba traigo un cantar.

Before boarding the bus that led them to sites of historic, cultural and heritage interest, some visitors expressed the fond memories of Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.

Ivonne Cronström, COO of the travel agency Axtours, from Finland, said in exclusive interview with ACN she could see with her own eyes the tourism product that sells and described this destination as fantastic.

The tourist Rebeca Vidberg said she experienced praise for her people, cordial and friendly treatment and security in this country.

MS Serenissima included Cuba for the first time in the cruise season that began last November and closed yesterday.
During these months it made four berths in the eastern city, three of them with the travel agency Cubatur as receptive and one shared with Viajes Cubanacan.

Alexis Hartman, director of Cubatur Santiago travel agency, said that 22 berths occurred in the season and predicted that next year will be higher.

The MS Serenissima came to Santiago de Cuba from Cienfuegos and departed at five p.m. towards the Dominican Republic.
