HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 24 (acn) Participants in the 17th Habano International Festival will visit today the tobacco plantations in the province of Pinar del Rio, where they will meet the work of men and women linked to that activity.
The delegates will share experiences with producers from that area, considered the best land for obtaining binder and filler leaves with which Cuban cigars are made.
The new band of Romeo y Julieta Gran Reserva Cosecha 2009 was launched to the market yesterday in the welcome activity held in the old Tobacco and Wood Warehouse, in Old Havana.
Yesterday it was also inaugurated The Trade Fair where there were exposed products associated to tobacco farming, machinery, handicrafts, paintings, smoking accessories and gourmet products.
The meeting was attended by entrepreneurs, businessmen, collectors, sommeliers, tasters, directors, actors, producers, officials and diplomats, who will take part in seminars, tastings and pairings with rum and wine.
Currently, Habanos has 27 brands entirely handmade, which are distributed in more than 150 countries.
