Havana, April 16 (ACN) The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the European Union allocated a 2.5 million Euro fund to support Cuba’s agriculture seed production.
The initiative, which includes eight Cuban municipalities, is expected to back institutions linked to the production and certification of vegetable and grain seeds for different crops, according to FAO. The project includes the purchase of tractors, planting machines and other technology.
According to FAO, the initiative aims at fostering the implementation of scientific results in the local productive practice and enhance relations among academic and food production institutions.
