Second Construction Cooperative Already Works in Santiago de Cuba

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Jan 21 (acn) The Construcciones Marco cooperative, second on the branch emerged in this city in the new form of non-state management, is already on site with significant commitments for the 500 anniversary of the founding of the city.

Legally registered last November, its members assume waterproofing of the roof of BANDEC provincial direction and two bank branches, four dwellings of Los Pinos neighborhood and a two-story house for workers of the edible oils refinery.

This list will grow soon due to works such as remodeling the roof of a TRD Store, a building of the University of Medical Sciences and the Santiago Rum Factory, belonging to Cuba Ron SA Corporation.

Its president, Marco Ricardo Hierrezuelo, hydraulic technician with almost 28 years of experience in construction, noted that quality should be the hallmark that distinguishes them, as well as a sense of belonging, discipline and fellowship.

The first year of work seems to be tough because Santiago de Cuba is fully immersed in the preparations for the festivities for its birthday on July and it will be, no doubt, a good start, he said.

Felix Castro, civil engineer and vice president, expressed his optimism on results and at personal level he said that in his last position as head of technical services at a hotel he felt himself underused, hence the decision to join this modality and implement his knowledge.

Yanly Negret, carpenter and one of the young founders, said that each member must have a personal exigency and high sense of responsibility to achieve excellence.

For this year the plan of the cooperative is 1 800 000 pesos.

This entity also counts w ith valuable advisers who today enjoy retirement for the good work to guarantee every step, from execution contract.

The first construction cooperative in Santiago de Cuba arose in January last year called Veranes, name of its chairman and it is properly operating.
