TRINIDAD, Cuba, Nov 28 (ACN) With an amount of around 60 million pesos and a direct impact on local development and environmental education programs, the Aldaba Company assumes today three of the most important works that are being executed as part of the program for the 510th anniversary of this locality, to be celebrated next January.
Israel Alberto Turiño Salinas, director of the entity, told the Cuban News Agency that on December 8, within the framework of the Canchanchara Festival, the Patio Becquer will be reopened, one of the distinctive spaces of the former village and whose current stage of renovation will allow to materialize its function as an exceptional center for cultural and community activities.
The director added that another of the most significant works being carried out is the Casa del Chocolate, whose civil work will also be completed for the birthday of a site founded by the Spanish colonizers and which, thanks to the symbiosis of nature, history and traditions, has become a highly demanded destination by national and foreign visitors.
Turiño Salinas pointed out that this is a local development project that can generate significant income for heritage conservation and other essential actions for the socioeconomic progress of Trinidad, a town whose historic center and the Valle de los Ingenios were declared a World Heritage Site.
He insisted that the facility will offer an exclusive service in the province and of excellence with drinks and jams made from chocolate and a design that will allow the processing of cocoa from Fomento, a mountainous municipality in this region where there are currently three hectares sealed with this product.
Likewise, a small aquarium will start operating, an ideal space for the implementation of environmental education programs in which other entities and organizations of the territory will be involved, such as the Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in Sancti Spiritus.
Aldaba was founded on April 12, 2012, with an essential role in the promotion and study of the values of the so-called museum city of the Caribbean and, among other actions, promotes initiatives to bring art and culture to rural or hard-to-reach communities.
