Havana, Nov 9 (ACN) Cuban first deputy minister for foreign trade and investment, Ana Teresita Gonzalez stressed the presence of European entrepreneurs and investors at Havana’s International Trade Fair.
The official said that is worth to admire the European business people here thirty ive years after the establishment of diplomatic, economic and commercial relations between Cuba and the European Union.
During celebrations marking European Day at the fair, Gonzalez said that the world is witness to current big challenges but also to the opportunities for fairer and more respectful integration based on support and solidarity.
The Cuban government official expressed her country’s gratitude to the European Union’s stance against the US extraterritorial, economic, commercial and financial blockade of the island nation.
She also affirmed Cuba’s commitment to the strengthening of bilateral links of cooperation and its will to boost foreign trade and foreign investment in an ambiance of trust, transparency and respect.
Gonzalez said that the implementation of funds for financing as stated by the new multi-annual program will soon take place to the benefit of priority economic areas, like territorial development, the new economic actors, trade, investment, computerization, e-government, healthcare and biotechnology.
The head of the political, economic, information and press division and Charge d’ Affairs with the European Union Mission in Cuba, Maria Mercedes Rodriguez, said that despite current financial or structural difficulties, European companies keep betting to the Cuban market which is full of opportunities.
