CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Jan 7 (acn) The technological modernization undertaken in hotel facilities in the province of Cienfuegos during 2014 increased the efficiency and quality of services in the tourist destination of Central Cuba.
Renier Reguera Porteiro, real estate agency director of the Ministry of Tourism in the territory, told ACN that investments exceeded three million pesos and benefited six hotels of the province.
The executive added that the improvements included replacement of fire detection systems, climate equipments, electric and telephone boards, as well as capital repair of elevators, rooms and bath areas.
He said that the main actions covered the Jagua, Union and Pasacaballo hotels, along with the complex Rancho Luna-Faro Luna and Yaguanabo Villa.
In the coming months, Reguera stated, it is expected to continue the renovation of the apartment complex, plus putting into operation a wastewater treatment plant to mitigate pollution in the bay.
Reguera added that the San Carlos hotel is in constructive terms the main work to build in the next two years and the work should begin in February.
Yoel Valladares Quintana, second-in-command of Rancho Luna-Faro Luna Hotel Complex, considered that through these projects the technological renovation and construction improvements will increase satisfaction standards of customers.
He noted the opening of new tourist potentialities in the central region of the country requires diversifying options, as the only alternative to compete in the market.
