Cuba highlights significance of Exposur 2023 International Fair

CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Cienfuegos, Sep 18 (ACN) Exposur 2023 is a great opportunity to present projects with contributions to the National Development Plan up to 2030, said Mayra Arevich Marin, Cuban minister of communications.

The event has been comprehensive, seeking ways to obtain greater exports, cash income and then allow us to achieve a sustainable country, as the Party's leadership is asking us, she said.

Arevich Marin highlighted the conversion of Desoft Computer Applications Company into a state-owned MSME and pointed out that its economic form does not take away the essence of its work or of the software industry.

For his part, Walter Baluja Garcia, head of Higher Education, stated that Exposur is a challenge overcome, the international presence, as well as the presence of territorial and national economic actors reflects the success of the fair in terms of communication and coordination of efforts for the development of the nation.

Although the objective was to show the world the commercial potential of the province of Cienfuegos(central Cuba), the Exposur 2023 international fair, which concluded last Sunday at the Pasacaballos Hotel, overcame the expectations of local authorities and participants in this commercial event in Cuba.

As Alexandre Corona Quintero, governor of the territory, noted, this attendance shows a growing confidence in the Cuban market, to the point of signing agreements such as the one between the company Frutas Selectas and the Spanish company Ibecosol.

At the closing ceremony, Maride Fernandez Lopez, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in Cienfuegos, summarized that a dozen letters of intent, two contracts of international economic association and more than 150 business deals were signed at the fair, which reflects the concrete results and the interest in the commercial exchange.

During four days there, more than a hundred exportable items were promoted, including the trade round between Cienfuegos and the government of Trinidad and Tobago, in which its representative Jude Carasqueros showed interest in cement and local aggregates, tomatoes, hot sauce, and the supply from these Caribbean islands of resources or raw materials for the production of fertilizers, as well as packaging and labels.
