Cuban and German company develop joint project to create tourism vehicle

SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Jul 31 (ACN) The Angel Villareal Bravo Industrial Enterprise, known as Ciclos Minerva, through a collaboration with the German company Energy, is carrying out the initial phase of the manufacture of an electric quadricycle, to contribute to the tourism industry.

Yojani Muñoz Rodriguez, deputy director of the center, told Cuban News Agency in an exclusive interview that the car would be similar to a Ford car from the 1950s, with the aim of achieving a classic model through renewable energies that would benefit the Task Life, the environment and also the tourism industry in Cuba.

He added that the project intends to achieve the greatest integration among national industries for the production of the vehicle, and only parts that do not exist in the Cuban market would be imported from Germany.

Eliel Perez Perez, general director of Ciclos Minerva, pointed out that in July, 300 mechanical bicycles, 16 tricycles and 110 electric bicycles were produced.

According to the executive, a teaching center will be opened in the entity so that third and fourth year students of the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical-Industrial faculties of the Marta Abreu de Las Villas Central University can receive classes and carry out their pre-professional internships.

Currently, the Angel Villareal Bravo company, the only one of its kind in Cuba, includes in its annual plan the manufacture of 18,500 bicycles, 6,000 motorcycles and 1,000 electric tricycles.
