HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 24 (acn) With the 2nd Memories Resorts Golf Tournament in Varadero, the Canadian company Blue Diamond ratified its intention of consolidating and expanding its presence in the main tourist areas of the island.
Almost four years after its entry in the Cuban market, the northern company occupies the third position among foreign chains with large operations, after the Spanish Melia and Iberoestar, with six facilities and over 4,000 rooms, under the brands Memories and Royalton.
Antonio Gelabert, president of the Cuba Division of Blue Diamond, told ACN that some 30 players of Spain, Italy, Canada, England, Japan, Holland, Norway and Cuba, among other nations, competed in the tournament.
Marcelo Da Silva, director of the Association of Golf Professionals of Mexico, highlighted the good organization of the tournament and its potential, for the quality of competitors and the characteristics of the gulf course.
