HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 15 (ACN) Cuba and Brazil have the potential to develop trade and cooperation in the fields of education, public health and sports, said today Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga, first deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX), during the Brazil Day celebrations at the 38th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2022).
Gonzalez Fraga remarked that the two countries maintained their links despite COVID-19 and the global economic crisis and thanked Brazil—Cuba’s second trading partner in the region and fifth worldwide in 2010-2015—for the medical and other supplies donated to Cuba during the pandemic and in the aftermath of the natural disasters that affected the Island.
Brazilian ambassador Roberto Colín, in turn, agreed that both nations have great chances to work together to reduce the trade imbalance with Cuba and make progress in terms of new agreements.
FIHAV 2022 also dedicated its Tuesday program to celebrate Mexico, Italy, Argentina and Venezuela Days.
