Furniture industry in Cuban central province supplies production to tourism sector

CIEGO DE AVILA, Cuba, Feb 7 (ACN) Beauty, decoration and perfection distinguish the furnishings made by the furniture industry in Ciego de Avila for the tourism sector, this year for hotel facilities in the Jardines del Rey complex, in the north of Ciego de Avila.

The members of the Business Unit of Furniture Base (UEB) Camilo Cienfuegos in this province have the commitment to finish in the first months of the year the productions for the hotel Roca Este Uno and start and finish those of Roca Norte Uno, both in Paredon Grande Key, said Jorge Ignacio Vidaurreta Valdes, director of that entity.

That islet with beautiful virgin beaches and a varied fauna, including marine life, has 8.7 square kilometers and a capacity for a hotel plant of 3,200 rooms, more than half of which are in different stages of construction.

This year, the plan in values of Muebles Lidex, the commercial name of this UEB, is 80 million pesos, and to fulfill this objective it will also support the mother and child program with the production of cradles and will deliver several items to the stores that collect foreign currency.

The Grand Muthu and the Five Star Resort Kempinski hotels, located on Guillermo Key, in Jardines del Rey; San Agustin and Laguna del Este 5, both in Santa Maria Key, in Villa Clara; the International, in Varadero; and the Rueda, in the capital city of Ciego de Avila, are some of the hotels that have been furnished with products of this entity.
